JSS Medical College will confer degrees on 195 MBBS graduates at an alumni reception scheduled on April 4 at 4:00 pm at its campus.
The ceremony will recognize academic excellence, with six deserving students receiving 11 gold medals and 12 cash prizes. As part of the tradition, graduates take the Hippocratic Oath, reaffirming their commitment to the ethical practice of medicine.
Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami will attend the event while JSS Mahavidyapeeta executive secretary CG Betsurmath will preside. JSS AHER Pro-Chancellor B. Suresh and Basavanagowdappa, Vice-Chancellor, JSS AHER will also be present.
MK Ramesh, President, Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission, will attend as the Chief Guest and present the prizes to the successful.
Dr. A noted surgeon, Ramesh previously served as the Vice-Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. JSS Medical College Principal Narayanappa shared details of the graduation at a press conference here on Thursday.
Sudheendra Bhat, Controller of Examinations, JSS AHER, Director, JSS Madhu Hospital and others were present.
In addition to student honors, faculty members will be recognized through awards such as the Best Teacher Award, Research Excellence Award, and the Prof. Foundation Award. YT Thatachari for Best Research Publication (2025).
The college, part of the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, has been ranked among the top 40 medical colleges in India by NIRF for nine consecutive years. The university also secured a top 100 global ranking in pharmacy and pharmacology. With more than 6,000 MBBS graduates and 2,600 post-graduate doctors produced so far, the institution continues to contribute to the healthcare workforce in India and abroad, according to the report.
