The District Administration Annamayya launched the division of quality rice into all government schools and social hostels within the PM Poshan-Dokka Seethamma Mid-Day Meal Scheme from Thursday after the re-opening of schools.
In an interview for the media, the common collector Adarsh Rajendran said that around 19,000 rice bags weighing 25 kg were delivered up to 2,009 government schools and 171 hostels throughout the district.
“To strictly reduce the threat of shares diversion and maintain transparency, the rice bags are equipped with QR codes and GPS tracking system. Scanning code will show details such as source farmer and mill.
The common collector also called on a live demonstration of the QR code scanning of the code during the media briefing, for collection here. Higher officials from the Department of Income, Civil Surveys, Panchayat Raj and Education took part.
