Up to 19 people were admitted to the hospital after suspecting the outbreak of gastroenteritis in the village of Gudi Sagar in Dharwad on Wednesday.
19 is in the Navalgund Hospital Taluk after complaints about vomiting and diarrhea.
Patients in the hospital visited a team of officers led by the Commissioner Divya PraBhu Grj and Mla NH Konaraddi. They also met family members of patients.
Mrs. Prabhu said she created a team that carried out scoring inspections and tests on drinking water sources in the village.
Some residents complained that the water in the village lake was contaminated. Samples from the lake are taken, said the deputy commissioner.
“In the village, the 30 Ashas team was created to create awareness of water, hygiene, cleaning and use of water and to carry out health inspections. A house survey has begun,” she said.
MLA said he ordered doctors to provide patients with all care. He said he would organize a meeting of Zilla Panchayat officials to ensure that such incidents did not appear.
