
Thiruvananthapurama’s Main Court condemned 18 -year -old youth to 30 years of strict imprisonment for rape of a 13 -year -old girl.
The Court judge by a deputy Shibu found Afzal from Pereyam, Kollam, a wine -blamed crime and sent him to prison.
The incident occurred in 2024. Afzal met a smaller girl through Instagram and after caught up with the location of his house, he entered violently when only a minor and her eight -year -old younger sister were present. Then brutally attacked and raped the older of two sisters. Although the younger girl shouted in the alarm, it was not unnoticed.
The accused was arrested immediately after reporting the incident and after the opposition from prosecution was denied bail. The court was completed in a year. The court accepted the argument of criminal prosecution that since Afzal had raped a girl who was only 13 years old, he had not deserved mercy.
The criminal prosecution was explored by 28 witnesses and submitted 71 documents and 16 exhibits. The prosecutor Kattayikonam JK Ajithprasad and a lawyer Bindu VC appeared for prosecution.
