
The 18 -year -old boy was injured when he was hit by a truck in Maruthi Nagar on Sunday afternoon, led to the protest of the population who blames the poor infrastructure and rash and negligence by heavy vehicles.
This approached the heels of the tragic death of Tanvi Krishna, who was on his way to school with his mother and sister, and on Thursday morning, the day before the 11th birthday, was crushed by a BMTC bus near Kogil Cross, Yelahanka. Tanvi Krishna would happen on August 22 for 11 years.
The Sunday incident appeared around 12:30, when the sacrifice of Satyanarayana, who was cycling, passed a truck in Maruthi Nagar. The boy, stuck under the front wheel, was pulled out by passers -by and hurried to the hospital in an ambulance where he is treated in an intensive care unit.
Yelahanka’s traffic police detained the driver and confiscated a truck for further investigation.
The inhabitants protested against the claim of poor infrastructure and poor road condition and increasing the volume of traffic. “Heavy vehicles are a threat to people, especially seniors and school children. There are no dividers on many roads,” the locals said.
We require authorities to ensure road safety and traffic discipline to save people’s lives, added other residents.
