The state government spent during 2024-25 Crore 165 crore on the well-being of Fisherfolka, said Minister of Fishing Saji Cherian.
On Saturday, he began the distribution of educational and sports prizes introduced by the Keral Fishermen Social Fund in Alappuzha.
Mr. Cherian said that children of fishermen reached milestones in the field of education. “Over the past five years, the state government has spent 53.52 GBP Crore as part of the Vidyakiranam system. Thousands of students from the fishing community have received admission to medical, engineering and other related courses. students, and a total of 26 students.
He said that as part of foreign initiatives in the field of education, the government sends two students from the fishing community to Europe for higher study for free. “Seventy -five libraries in coastal areas have been transformed into Excellency Centers, including online learning. Of the 10 technical schools in the state, four were upgraded to highly standard intelligent schools. The remaining six schools will be transformed into intelligent schools this year.
The function was distributed to 222 students who provided A+ in all subjects in the SSLC exam, 83 students who received nine and+ degrees, 75 students with eight and+ levels and 60 students who achieved A+ in all subjects in two tests.
