A total of 1,500 tons of onions were auctioned on the Kurnool market, which was obtained from farmers.
The common collector B. Navy, who supervised the auction, said that retailers, hoteliers, wholesale retailers and others bought a total of 1,500 tons. On Saturday, 800 metric tons of onions were sold to hotels and another for a rate ranging from 50 to 450 GBP per quinttal, while 700 metric tons were sold on Sunday for a price of 30 to 900 GBP per quintal.
Meanwhile, which on Monday (September 15) expected a huge arrival on the market, the authorities on Tuesday 16th September declared the court’s closure to avoid the inconveniences for the farmers.
Officials reported that shares of the onion sold on the Tadepalligud market will also be offered 1,200 GBP at the price of Quinttal announced by the state government. On the other hand, officials noticed that the commission agents were bringing low quality onions and warning that measures would be taken against these persons. They were also asked not to bring more than 400 onions to the market.
Farmers were recommended to bring a dry and graded onion to the market along with the original e-routed certificate, Aadhar card, a book for the pass and a book of bank accounts.
