More than 150 solutions developed by child innovators under Project LIORA, an initiative of the Kudumbashree Mission for Balasabha members, will be showcased at the Balasabha International Children’s Innovation Conclave. The two-day event will be held at the Kerala Startup Mission campus from Saturday (January 17, 2026).
Innovations were broadly divided into seven – agriculture, environment and livelihoods; arts, culture and communication; education and life skills; digital technology; health, hygiene and nutrition; waste management; and social inclusion and gender equality. The summit aims to provide a global platform for child innovators from Kerala to showcase their ideas, innovations and socially relevant solutions.
“The children were asked to find innovative solutions to problems affecting their local community and were supported in fine-tuning their concepts. While some developed prototypes, others created papers on their concepts. The children themselves will present their ideas at the summit, followed by an interaction with experts,” said B. Sreejith, State Program Officer, Kudumbashree Mission.
The best presentations from the Community Development Society level were then selected for the district level, which were further shortlisted for the summit. In addition, 10 innovative ideas from Attappady’s special project were also selected.
