Rains Mumbai: With heavy rains that put Mumbai and adjacent cities on Tuesday evening, they took several social media users to microblog X website to share videos of strongly waterlogged streets in Andheri and Saki Naka.
Although rainfall accompanied by storms and lightning brought relief from rising temperatures, it slowed road transport in several places, including Western Express Highway.
Viral videos have shown that people wade through the knee water on Old Nagardas Road in Andher.
One of the fruit market videos showed that traders are trying to keep fruit safe from the flooded street.
“A little rains bomb and we have water recording on Old Nagardas Road, Andheri East,” said X.
“#Mumbairains 15 minutes of rain -causing rain on Nagardas Road #andher East,” another user of BMC said.
Meanwhile, the social activist of Zora Bhathen also ran in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) above the water in Andher Subway.
“Hi my BMC. We can suggest you install the signs at both ends of Andher Subway.” This is a drain only during dry weather “… This sign solves the problem … and saves Mumbaikars and several hundreds of Crores,” Bhathen said in a post on X.
A video shared by an X user called Sagar Shah has shown garbage accumulation on water on Saki Naka.
“This is Mumbai? Saki Naka from now being overflowing gutter! Please help. We deserve better!”
“This is the world famous Naka Naka. Saki Naka,” said another user who dragged the video.
A user X named Tanmay Tamhane, who killed BMC above the situation, said it wasn’t even the right monsoon rains, and such a poor situation was everywhere in Mumbai.
IMD Problems Yellow Caution
Meanwhile, the Indian meteorological department (IMD) released a yellow alert of the Mumbai (MMR) with light to medium collision for another four days.
“The storm accompanied by flash, light to mild collisions and impact winds (40-50 km / h) are probably in isolated places,” said the weather department for the maximum city.
Parts of Maharahtra can witness heavy rains with thunder and impact wind between 21 and 24 May after a cyclonic circulation, which is likely to form over the Eastern Arab Sea off the coast of Karnataka, said the Met.
Met department officer Shaubhangi Bhute said rain activity over Maharashtra can increase between 21 and 24 May under the influence of cyclonic circulation.
