
The ninth standard student was killed after the authorickshaw was hit when she tried to cross the busy Arakkonam – Kancheepuram Main Road, in the village of Balanipettai near Arakkonam in Ranipet.
The police said the deceased was identified as P. Hari Priya (14), the inhabitants of the village of Balanipettai. She studied at a government of a higher high school in the city. The initial investigation revealed that Priya returned home after school hours. When she tried to cross the stretch, she was hit by the authorickshaw.
She was thrown several meters from the road. Immediately other motorists and passers -by rescued poorly injured Priya and admitted it in the government hospital Taluk in Arakkonam.
She was transferred to the Medical College Hospital in Thirvallur, where she succumbed to her injuries. The case was registered by the Municipal Police Arakkonam. Police arrested the driver of the Autorickshaw Sheikh Abdullah (43), a native of Chittoor (AP). Later it was stored in a sub-yail in Arakkonam. The probe is running.
