
Up to 14 Maoists, including a member of the Committee for the Regional Committee of Galikonda (ACM) forbidden CPI (Maoist) Andhra Odisha Border Special Committee (AobSZC) Madivi and alias Rajesh on Thursday surrendered to the Police in Theangan Hanamkon.
The surrender is two CPI (Maoist) ACM, seven party members, one militia commander and four members of the militia, the police said. 14 Maoists turned in front of the General Police Inspector, Multi Zone-I, Hyderabad, S. Chandrasekhar Reddy, in the Warangal Police Commissionarate Commissioner and Police Commissioner Warangal Sunpreet Singh.
The surrender of the Maoists was reportedly involved in several incidents of Maoist violence in Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
According to the police, they left the forbidden outfit and joined the mainstream, which attracted the rehabilitation policy of the Telelangany government for the surrendered Maoists. Up to 18 armed Maoists, including three members of the State Committee, died in separate incidents of “fire exchange” in the state since January 2024.
