A total of 13 houses have been damaged by rain in the Nilgiris since October 18, 2025 (Saturday), the district administration said, with families being offered welfare assistance of ₹ 1.04 lakh.
The administration said 42 zonal teams continued to maintain vigilance in 283 landslide-prone areas and 42 Tamil Nadu Disaster Response Force (TNDRF) personnel continued to be deployed in Kotagiri and Coonoor taluks to deal with any emergency arising out of heavy rains in the district.
The rain also caused damage to other public infrastructure in the district, including the collapse of nine retaining walls and 35 power poles. Since Friday, more than 20 landslides have been cleared by road department staff and 18 uprooted trees have also been cleared.
The floods also caused damage to more than 25 hectares of agricultural land.

Nilgiris District Collector, Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, also reviewed the preparations undertaken to ensure that people remain safe during the heavy rains across the district.
