VMSR Murty, Director of the Indian Institute of Engineering and Technology, Shibpur, Howrah, West Bengal, Has Urged Students to Keep Pace With the Rapidly Shifting Landscape of Engineering, Utilising Emerging Tools Such As Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Green Technologies, and Advanced Materials, and Emprased the Equal Importance of Creativity and Ethical Reasoning.
Prof. Murty noted that technology is developing faster than ever. Innovation cycles are measured in months, so the learning process must continue even after formal academics support personal and professional growth and adapt to the rapidly changing world.
Murty encouraged engineering graduates to set their goals and work for the greater good of society and inspired Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
He stressed that, in addition to technical expertise, a successful engineer must be an interdisciplinary thinker who is able to synthesize knowledge across different fields.
Prof. Murty emphasized the assumptions needed for success and asked the students to remain curious about maintaining the attitude of questioning everything and engaging in constant learning.
He called on students to learn to cooperate, because effective teamwork is essential for achieving complex goals and to consider the possible consequences of their actions and their impact on future generations.
He added that tireless adaptation to new situations is essential for success, and finally to lead with integrity because being honest and ethical in leadership creates confidence and supports a positive work environment.
Satyan Raju Datla, co -founder Fabrix.ai in Hyderabad, said that the future belongs to those who strategically combine technological instruments with unique human forces such as creativity, empathy and ethical judgment.
Mr. Datla explained that artificial intelligence (AI) would not steal jobs. He asked graduates to consider AI to be a source and tool that transforms the nature of work, to the extent and speed, probably uninvited from the industrial revolution.
