
The Wyra police on Friday (May 15) seized 128 kg of dry ganja worth around ₹ 64 crore and arrested three traders, two from Odisha and one from Andhra Pradesh, near Wyra town in Khammam district.
Wyra Deputy Commissioner of Police S. Sarangapani told the media that a police team found three persons moving under suspicious circumstances in Somavaram village near Wyra on Friday morning. During the search, the police found 60 packets of ganja packed in five gunny bags from the trio. They were allegedly transporting contraband from Malkangiri in Odisha to Tamil Nadu.
The arrested have been identified as 22-year-old Maniyal Bothra and 24-year-old Lakshman, both hailing from Odisha’s Malkangiri district, and 25-year-old Chitikala Sanyasi Naidu from Nathavaram in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district.
