Twelve Maoists, of which nine of whom bear a collective reward of 28.50 ₹ Lakh, gave up on Wednesday (9 July 2025) in the Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh, the police officer said.

It is a symbol of the commitment of government and administration to bring back youth, which has lost due to the hollow ideology of the Maoists, to the mainstream, he said.
“12 cadres, including two women, turned to higher police officials, and those who belong to the Central Reserve (CRPF) police forces, quoted disappointing with increasing differences in forbidden clothing, harsh forest life and hollow Maoist ideology,” he said.
The excitement of the cadres also said that they were impressed by the rehabilitation drive “Lon Varrat” and the new policy of surrender and rehabilitation of the state government, he said.
From the hand -handed cadres, Chandranna alias Bursu (52), who was active as a member of the West Bastar Division Division, and Amit aka Hing Bars (26), who was active in the same rank under Gadchiroli divisions, everyone said.
The duo has been involved in several attacks on security forces in the past, he said.
Two other cadres ARUNA Lekam (25), member of the Regional Committee, and Deva Kawasi (22), the commander of the section, carried 5 lakh and £ 3 lakh, he said.
One cadre carried a reward of RS 2 lakh, female cadre £ 1 lakh and three more 50 000 ₹, he said.
The surrender of the cadres under Lon Varrat Drive belongs to the districts of Sukma, Bijapur and Narayanpur, except Dantewada, said.
In 2024, a total of 792 naxalities were submitted in the Bastar region, which included from seven districts, including Dantewada, according to the police.
