Veteran Marathon Runner Fauja Singh died on Monday (July 14, 2025) after being hit by an unidentified vehicle while walking in his native village in the Jalandhar district in Pandjab. He was 114.
His demise was confirmed by the author Khushwant Singh, who spoke to Fauja Singh’s family members.
Governor of Pandjab and Administrator Chandigarh, Gula Chand Kataria, said he was “deeply groped” by Fauja Singho.

“My turbanated tornado is no longer. It’s a great sadness to share my most respected S. Fauja Singh. He was hit by an unidentified vehicle around 15:30 in his village, bias, moving on the road.
When Khushwant Singh was contacted, he said he spoke to Fauja Singh’s family members who confirmed the report of his death.
After a traffic accident, Fauja Singh, a long -distance runner, was transported to a private hospital in Jalandhar, where he succumbed to injuries.
