As many as 11 districts in Kerala are bracing for heavy rains on Tuesday (October 21, 2025).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad.
A strengthened depression, which threatens to turn into an intense depression over the southeast Arabian Sea, has triggered the current spell of rains. The IMD has predicted that the Northeast Monsoon over Kerala is likely to intensify in the next 48 hours.
