The state government, which strengthened the emergency medical services in Karnataka, approved the proposal to bring the “108” outpatient clinic of the Aogya Kavach in the framework of direct management of the health department and terminated its activities within the private partnership. The Government Order (GO) was issued for this purpose on June 12.

According to The Go, the central center of the Central and Control Center for Fleet Management of 715 ambulances will be set up at the state level. This system will be powered by 112 NG-ARSS software. In addition, the “108” check centers will be set up in each district, while district medical officers are responsible for operational supervision. Ambulance and nursing staff will be accepted on the basis of outsourcing at the district level.

As part of the initiative, ASHA workers visit households to raise awareness of non-transferable diseases (NCDs) and lead individuals aged 30 and over to undergo screenings in Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWC). Community health professionals (Chos) will test 14 NCDs, including hypertension, diabetes and various forms of cancer. Free medicines will be provided to diagnosed, ensure early treatment and reduce the financial burden of families.
The Health Department deprives 195 ASHA mentors
The health department issued an order to relieve 195 ASHA mentors who worked in the state on the basis of a contractual basis within the national medical mission (NHM). The order stated that the obligations previously carried out by ASHA mentors with nursing qualifications are now carried out by healthcare professionals, higher health inspectors at the primary health center and primary health officers and community health professionals in subcentres.
The order stated that these 195 people who were deprived of their duties can be considered on the basis of contractual basics in the free positions of nurses under NHM in the relevant priority districts, if eligible.
