After starting a special drive to increase tax collection in Panchayats, 90 out of 122 grams of Panchayats in Gadag Zilla Panchayat recorded 100% success, leading to 100.61% success in seven taluks within 2024-25.
According to Gadag, CEO Zill Panchayat Bharath S., success resulted in Gadag Zilla Panchayat was seventh at state level.
“At a time when the waiting taxes became a challenge, the Panchayat Gram and the employees in the district gathered 1,395.95 Lakh against the targets of 1,387.54 Lakh.
During a special ride, the “Tax Month” program took place through visits and consciousness of the door and awareness of Jathas. Tax collectors were approaching the households twice a day to persuade them to pay taxes.
Mr. Bharath said that together with the efforts of employees and officials it was expanded by taxpayers, which led to the Gadag district to experience such success.
Panchayats taluk, which deployed 100%target, are Mundaragi (105.28%), Naragund (100.86%), Ron (104.86%), Shihatti (102.47%), Gajendragad (100.60%) and Laxmeshware (105.28%). Meanwile, Gadag Taluk achieved a success of 94.8%.
