On Thursday, the Raichur police registered a company against 10 people in connection with the case of children’s marriage and a sexual attack on a smaller girl.
The Fir, Following and Complaint Lodged by Panchayat Development Officer of Deosugur in Raichur District Ravi Kumar, States That Accused No 2, Gaddemma, Sumangala, Geetha, Anjaneyya, Gaddeppa, Renuka, Sadanand, Mahadevi and Ramanagouda, Performed the Marriage of Tatappa, Who is Accused No 1, With the Victim, and Minor Girl, On April 18, 2025, in Shaktinagar, although she knew she was minor.
The company quoted the victim when he said that the accused Tatappa committed a sexual assault twice in his house, one night marriage, and then a month later, even though he knew he was minor.
The companies were registered under Sections 9 and 10 of the Act on the Prevention of Children’s Marriage, Sections 64 R/W 3 (5) Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita 2023 and Sections 6 and 17 of the Act on the Protection of Children from Sexual Criminal offenses (POCSO) 2012.
Another investigation is underway.
