
Ten persons were injured when a private tour bus veered off a national highway and plowed into an agricultural field at Chebrol near Pithapuram in Kakinada district in the early hours of Monday.
Gollaprol Sub-Inspector N. Ramakrishna said in an official statement that six of the 10 injured were from West Godavari district. They were identified as ASVS Murthy, Yelluri Vishnu Vardhan, K. Dileep, K. Vishal, Kalisetti Malleswari and K. Deepak. The others injured were Behara Ravi Kumar and Ch. Ravali from Srikakulam district and A. Priyanka from Vizianagaram district.
When the bus operated by Sri Vijaya Krishna Travels was traveling from Srikakulam to Bhimavaram town, there were 20 passengers on board when the accident occurred. According to police, all the injured were discharged from Pithapuram Hospital on Monday evening. The police have registered a case and the investigation is ongoing.
