Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 9th edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, the largest Asian telecommunications, media and technology events, Yashobhoomi in New Delhi.
During his address, he stressed that the cost of one GB of wireless data in India is lower today than the price of a cup of tea.

“Digital connectivity in India is no longer a privilege or luxury. Now he is an integral part of every Indian life life,” he said, adding that India has the fastest growing population of developers in the world today.
5. India has the second largest telecommunications market in the world, the second largest market with 5G, workforce, mobility and thinking, he said. India started its Made in India 4G Stack. IMC 2025, organized jointly by the Ministry of Telecommunications (DOT) and the Association of Cell Operators in India (Coai).
India Mobile Congress 2025 will present the latest progress in telecommunications and new technologies, associates global leaders, politicians, industrial experts and innovators. This event is intended to include a wide range of topics that include Indian power in global technology.
More than 1.5 Lakh visitors from more than 150 countries, 7,000 global delegates and 400 companies are expected to participate. Over 1600 new cases of use across areas such as 5G/6G, AI, intelligent mobility, cyber security, quantum computer technology and green technology, will be presented through 100 sessions and 800 speakers.
“IMC 2025 also underlines international cooperation with delegations from Japan, Canada, Great Britain, Russia, Ireland and Austria, which participates in this event,” he noted.
Previously, the Minister of Trade Unions Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the Indian satellite communication sector (SatCom) is ready for significant growth because regulatory framework is established and licensing processes will soon be launched.
Scindia said it was expected that the Satcom market in India would double over the next few years. With three already issued licenses, SatCom has expressed optimism that the market will expand rapidly in the next few years and potentially double.
