
Hyderabad traffic police reserved 1,275 cases against minors and facilitated the cancellation of registration certificates for 35 vehicles between 5 and 22 April 2025.
Canceled registration remain invalid for one year.
A special coercive unit, which started on April 5, is part of the initiative for the whole city to reduce smaller driving, which is prohibited under section 199a of the 1988 motor vehicles.
The police submitted props to the Regional Transport Office (RTA) to cancel the registration of vehicles involved in these crimes. Meanwhile, minors caught driving will not be entitled to obtain a driving license until they reach the age of 25.
The Hyderabad traffic police urged parents and legal representatives to ensure that minors did not get access to vehicles. The drive will continue in the coming weeks as part of the continuing effort to support road safety and reducing accidents.
