₹93,290 per month in Gurugram: Techie splits rent, car, food and lifestyle expenses | Today’s news
A shared apartment does not necessarily mean a low monthly budget in Gurugram. 28-year-old engineer Arjun Singh shared a breakdown of his expenses, which together ₹93,290 per month including rent, groceries, car payments, fuel, food and lifestyle.
Singh detailed his expenses in an Instagram video, saying the figure did not include his investments.
The breakdown offers a look at how a combination of fixed commitments and discretionary spending can achieve almost ₹1 lakh per month.

Rent, household help and appliances
Singh said he was paying ₹19,000 per month as his share of the rent for the shared 2 BHK.
His household expenses include others ₹4000 for a cook, maid and car cleaner. Also valid approx ₹1000 per month for the rental of appliances including a washing machine and a refrigerator.
Food and fitness push the grocery bill ₹14,790
Food is among the larger components of Singh’s monthly expenses.
He said his grocery bill had risen to ₹14,790 per month since he started getting more serious about fitness. This includes proteins and other supplements.
Eating out adds another ₹10,000 on his monthly expenses – approx ₹5,000 for meals with friends and more ₹5,000 for food ordered online.
Singh is also spending ₹2000 for coffee.

The cost of the car ₹27 thousand every month
His car is another significant part of his budget.
Singh pays ₹20,000 on his car EMI and approx ₹7000 on fuel every month.
Other expenses mentioned by him include ₹2,500 for badminton, ₹6,000 up to ₹7000 for shopping, ₹2000 for subscription and Wi-Fi etc ₹4 thousand for electricity.
He doesn’t have a separate gym expense because he uses the gym at work or at the office, both of which he said are free for him.
‘I regret knowing the total’
After adding up the expenses, Singh arrived at a monthly total ₹93,290.
The technician acknowledged that the figure seemed high to him and clarified that investments were not included in the calculation.
Captioning the video on Instagram, Singh said he tried to track his monthly expenses and now regrets knowing the final number.

Social media users are questioning the spending
The post drew backlash from social media users, with comments ranging from criticism of his spending habits to questions about individual expenses.
One user commented: “Oh the maths of 94k monthly expenses means 2L+ paycheck. Translation? Bro Arjun is showing off his financial portfolio to the fullest as the marriage market is open and sold as a premium package.”
Another user wrote: “Bro you are very high maintenance.”
A third user questioned his decision to rent appliances and also expressed concerns about the electricity bill, writing, “Nice but instead of renting you can buy a washing machine for a fridge, the electricity bill is too high monthly too, landlords in Gurgaon can charge high,” wrote a third.
