A Chinese company and its boss took the internet by storm for employee compensation of 180 million yuan ($26 million or around ₹238 million crowns) in bonuses at the end of the year from a profit of 270 million yuan.
According to a South China Morning Post report, Henan Kuangshan Crane Co held its annual gala on February 13, during which more than 60 million yuan in cash was handed over on the spot.
The announcement of the massive bonus payout at an event attended by approximately 7,000 employees quickly gained traction on social media platforms, generating admiration, surprise and a fair amount of envy among netizens.
Take what you can count
The company’s employees were invited to the stage to collect their rewards, while in some other interactive activities they were asked to count their money themselves and take home whatever amount they could.
According to videos circulating online, employees were seen counting cash spread out on long tables, while others carried wads of bills in their hands on stage and some could barely hold all the money.
Gold jewelry as a reward?
During the gala, the company’s founder and chairman Cui Peijun even called the finance department on stage and said, “Why are we giving away washing machines? Do you think gold prices have gone up? In past years, we gave away necklaces and rings, take the money and give everyone another 20,000 yuan ($2,800).”
Including bonuses distributed to online employees, the company’s total payouts at the end of the year exceeded 180 million yuan, bringing the total reward fund to a staggering amount.

Similar to the bonus payments at the end of 2025, the company has taken a generous approach to profit sharing in previous years. After posting a net profit of 260 million yuan ($38 million) in 2024, it distributed 170 million yuan to employees.
The company also gave out nearly 1.6 million yuan ($230,000) in bonuses to about 2,000 female employees in March last year to mark International Women’s Day.
Financial health of the company
The company’s profit for 2025 was reported to be 270 million yuan, meaning that nearly 70% of its profits were distributed among its 7,000 employees. The manufacturer and service provider was founded in September 2002.
The company specializes in construction cranes and material handling products with business operations in more than 130 countries worldwide. Company boss Cui owns approximately 98.88% of its shares.

The frequent practice of handing out cash rewards and benefits to employees led Cui to be dubbed by netizens as “the boss who likes to hand out money the most,” according to a news report.
When Cui heard the nickname, he replied, “It’s not that I like to give money away, but that young people are burdened with car loans and mortgages, and any relief we can offer helps.”
