Andhra Pradesh Minister for Agriculture, Dairy Development, Cooperation and Marketing K. Atchannaidu announced that ₹ 12 crore has been sanctioned for conducting a survey of the irrigation system in the Godavari delta to speed up the modernization work.
Mr. Atchannaidu who is also the minister in charge of the district Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema, chaired the District Development Review Committee here on Saturday.
“The state government will soon release ₹25,000 per hectare for paddy, ₹35,000 for banana and ₹1,500 for coconut palm as compensation for damage caused during Cyclone Montha,” Mr. Atchannaidu said.
Referring to the impact of Cyclone Montha on the yield of rice in the 2025-26 kharif season, the Minister said that the expected yield is likely to fall from 4.5 lakh metric tonnes to 3.57 lakh metric tonnes in the Dr district. While registering the crop details, Mr. Atchannaidu said that 99% of the crops were registered in the e-crop system.
